It is with great sadness that we the family announces the passing of Palmer Hierlihy, 83, which occurred at his residence in Beresford, on Thursday August 5, 2021.
Born in Tabusintac, he was the son of the late Ira and Ida (Palmer) Hierlihy.
Palmer worked most of his life in grocery retail; Dominions, Super Value and retired from Atlantic Super Store at the age 55.
His passions was gardening and loved watching politics, sports and the Olympics on television.
He is survived by his children: Wanda Hierlihy of Fredericton, Sondra (Mark) Robichaud of Beresford, and Charles Hierlihy of Bathurst.
His grandchildren whom he adored: Ryan Robichaud (Samantha) of Bathurst, Kevin Robichaud (Lisa) of Ottawa and Andrew Robichaud (Kelsey) of Moncton and a great-granddaughter, Quinn Robichaud of Bathurst.
Three sisters: Eunice (late Walter) Morrison of Massachusetts, USA, Wilma (late Ronald) Lake of Nova Scotia and Sandra (late Keith) Goodfellow of Miramichi.
Many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by an infant brother, James.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. A funeral service for Palmer will be held from Elhatton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 3 p.m. Please note: Masks are required to attend the funeral. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Tabusintac.
