Vimini – Ovidio of Espanola suddenly and unexpectedly passed away at the Espanola Regional Hospital on March 25, 2021 at the age of 92. Dear son of the late Fulvio & Prassede (nee Cinotti) Vimini. Beloved husband of Marion (nee Vincent). Loving father of Carlo Vimini (Mary) of Milton and Marina David (Larry) of Constance Bay. Cherished Grandpa to grandchildren Lance, Lucas (predeceased), Carly, Johnny and Nonno to great grandchildren Logan and Layla. Dear brother of Sandro Vimini (Liliana) both predeceased of Italy, Romano Vimini (Elba) of Espanola and Marcello Vimini of Espanola. A love for his favorite activities including golf, fishing, hunting, fine berry wine making and woodworking kept him in youthful spirits. He was a man of strict routines and started each day early with warm up stretches then breakfast and finally to the basement for his cardio workout of 100 laps around the pool table while pumping hand weights. He was now primed for the rest of the day’s activities. He enjoyed “coaching” both the Blue Jays and Bruins from his armchair. It seems they rarely listened to him. The family are truly thankful he was able to enjoy 30+ years of healthy retirement doing things his way. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at the Bourcier Funeral Home on Wednesday March 31, 2021 from 1 PM until the time of private family service at 4 PM in the funeral home. Interment in the Espanola Cemetery at a later date in the spring. If so desired, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion BR#39 and/or the Espanola Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
