Obituary of Otis Oickle
George “Otis” Oickle, 88 of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2021 in the Queens Manor. Born in on August 6, 1932, he was the son of the late George H. and Violet R. Schrader and the last surviving of his siblings.
Otis worked many jobs in his life, such as fish cutter, carpenter, Dartmouth City Works, Sanitation LRHS and Security at Stenpro. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and any time he spent with family and friends, especially at the cabin. Otis loved playing the guitar and singing country music. He would often say, “We only have so many sunrises and so many sunsets so enjoy, because when they’re up, they’re up!”
Otis is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Barbara Oickle; children Jackie (David) Dyson, John (Shelly) Oickle, Harvey (Cindy) Oickle and Steven (Karen) Oickle; grandchildren Trevor (Brandy), Darcy (Barbara), Jeremy, Nicole (Steven) and Jacob (Leigh-Ann); great-grandchildren Chanelle (Matthew) and Fisher; great great-grandchild Avery; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Otis was predeceased by his son Jeffrey; brothers Alfred, David and Robert; sisters Madge, Verna and Carolyn.
Thanks to all the family friends and care givers that made him happy until the end.
Cremation has taken place and by request, there will be no visitation or service. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home New Ross Funeral Chapel, 4935 Hwy #12, New Ross, B0J 2M0 (902-689-2961).
