(1955-2021)
Omer Robichaud, 66, of Miramichi, passed away on Saturday, March 6th 2021, at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. He was surrounded by his loved ones, after battling a long fight with lung cancer. Born in Pointe-Sapin, he was the son of the late Alphee and of the late Leona Robichaud (Robichaud).
Prior to his illness, Omer spent 40 plus years as a floor installer, as well as doing other carpentry work. He also spent his life playing his guitar and writing many songs. He had the privilege of having a few of his songs published by local artists over the years. He had an amazing ability for making people laugh and was very well known by family and friends for being the one they loved to spend time with when gathering. He was a true entertainer. He was also very spiritual and considered himself a lover of the bible. Over the years, he would always strive to tell anyone, who would listen, about the truths written in the bible. He never gave up in struggling to attain to his spiritual goals. In his final days, it gave him peace and comfort in knowing that he had a hope for the resurrection, in the future, to a paradise earth where he will be reunited with his loved ones. John 5:28, 29 and Psalm 37:29.
He is survived and loved by his long-time companion, Camilla Cormier; his six children: daughters Tammy McCarthy (Brent) of Miramichi, Leslie Wood (Tim) of Bracebridge Ont., Amanda Arsenault (Eric) of Moncton and step-daughter Vanessa Cormier of Cormier Village; sons Raymond Robichaud (Vanessa) of Shediac and Joey Pineau of Acadieville; four grandchildren: Keegan McCarthy, Joshua Robichaud, Gabriel Demaine and Chase Robichaud; sisters: Blondine Mazerolle of Bouctouche, Aline Mazerolle of Pointe-Sapin and Pierrette Robichaud of Moncton; brothers: Gerald (Helene) of Aldouane, Romeo (Jacqueline) of Moncton and Ulysse (Gail) of Ottawa Ont.
He was predeceased by four sisters: infant Aurelie, Laurida, Claudette and Zelande; two brothers: Hector and Delphin.
It was Omer’s wish to not have any funeral service. He would like everyone to remember him as he was while he was alive, making you laugh, loving you and singing songs to his heart’s content.
