Ola’s Obituary
Carey, Ola May – Middleton formerly of Margaretsville, passed away peacefully at the age of 101 on Friday June 4, 2021, in Heart of the Valley Nursing Home Long Term Care Centre, Middleton. Born in Bear River East, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Evva (Clarke) Sanford. Ola taught school for many years in Margaretsville. She was long time member of the Margaretsville Baptist Church and served on the Women’s Missionary Society. Ola served as treasurer for the Margaretsville & District Fire Department. Ola is survived by her son, Dwayne (Judy) Carey, Sand Beach; daughter-in-law, Brenda Whitmore, East Margaretsville; grandson, James (Kelley) Carey, Scots Bay; granddaughter, Karlene (Matthew) Bond, Aldershot; beloved extended family, Shannon and Murray; eight great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Ola was predeceased by her husband, Donald; son, Phillip; brother, Lesley; sisters, Vera Perkins, Roberta Trimper and Joyce in infancy. A private family burial will be held in Bay View Cemetery, Margaretsville. A celebration of Ola’s life will take place at a later date when COVID 19 restrictions are lifted.
