April 30, 1929 – February 4, 2021
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on February 4th in his 92nd year, with his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce (nee Larmer) by his side.
Loving father of Patricia Murdock (John) of Grand Bend, ON and Marlene Lindquist of Whitehorse, Yukon. Proud grandfather of Ainslie Murdock, Ryan Murdock, Joshua Lindquist, Lucas Lindquist, Daniel Lindquist and Elijah Lindquist. Great grandfather to Austin Lindquist, Leighton Lindquist and Lincoln Lindquist. Predeceased by his father Clinton and mother Fern (nee MacNeil) Gibson. Brother to Allan (deceased), Ralph (deceased), Ruth, Phyllis Gilroy, Jean Putland (Les), Roger (Shirley), Nancy Molleson (deceased) and Susan St. Hillaire (Bill). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Oshawa and raised in Glen Miller, Ontario Norm moved to Bowmanville in 1953 with his family to work in General Motors where he retired from after 35 years. Norm enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, woodworking, fishing, travelling and a good game of cards.
A sincere thank you to the staff at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville (Medical & LTC 2nd floor) for their wonderful care and compassion.
A Family Funeral Service will be held at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. Bowmanville on Monday February 8th at 1 pm. Those wishing to view virtually a link will be provided shortly. Memorial Donations in Norm’s memory may be made to CNIB, Bowmanville Hospital Foundation or Trinity United Church, Bowmanville.
