Norman Marshall Grant 2021

It is with sad hearts but deep seeded joy, that the Family of Norm Grant announces his stepping into Heaven on Jan 1, 2021 after a courageous battle with Brain Cancer. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 30 years, Deb, his daughter Kristina and their son Rob and daughter in law Krista (with first grandbaby coming soon), his mother Lorna Grant, sister Marilyn and numerous nieces, nephews and 6 great nieces. He was an amazing husband who loved his family deeply, only surpassed by his passionate love for the Lord his Saviour, Jesus Christ. Husband, father, son, brother, uncle, pastor, teacher, realtor, coach and friend. Whatever role Norm was in, he served his Saviour first. Because of his generous giving of his time and talents, Norm leaves behind a legacy of people whose lives have been forever changed. Norm had an extensive background in commercial and residential real estate sales. At the height of this success, he left it all behind to pursue the dream of owning a golf course. Eventually he purchased land to build his dream and then the unexpected happened … God called. His unreached background set the stage for this strong-minded and religiously skeptic personality to have a very powerful encounter with God. After walking away from his dream, he went back to school to earn a Master of Divinity from Knox College, University of Toronto, and focussed his energies and passion on affecting life change through the spoken word of God. He wrote a book, “You Want Me to What?” and was in the process of writing a few others when the diagnosis of a stage four Glioblastoma sidelined him. We are forever grateful to our church, friends and neighbours who supported us tirelessly through this journey with prayer, food, emotional support, helping with errands and even taking care of Duke! In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice Simcoe. Their warmth and care created an atmosphere that fostered dignity for Norm during his last days. What they gave us as a family in the form of comfort and skilled health care for Norm, we could never begin to re-pay. Arrangements entrusted to the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Norman Marshall Grant 2021..
