Brown, Norma Irene (Pankhurst) Nov 13, 1927 – July 26, 2021
It is with sadness the family of Norma Irene Brown announces the passing of our Mother and Grandmother on Monday July 26 2021 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife, of the late Edwin Brown (2000); Caring Mother, of Norman, Ian (Joy) and Cameron; Loving Gran of, Malcolm, Kelvin, Maya, Deacon and Evan. Norma is fondly remembered by her cousins Keith and David Pankhurst; The extended Brown families; her ex-daughters-in-law; Mary Gallant (Norm) and Jenny Westfall (Cam) and their families, and also by her friends and prior students.
Norma was an avid cottager, spending her childhood summers on Lake Rousseau, and after her marriage, the family spent summers, on Gloucester Pool.
Norma was an accomplished ballet dancer, teacher and choreographer. She was the owner of the “Norma Pankhurst School of Dance” in Scarborough for many years during the 60s & 70s.
Norma was also a world traveller; Africa, Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, South America, the USA and of course Canada. She was filled with stories of her travels and experiences, that she loved to share with everyone. She will be missed.
Cremation has taken place and an intimate family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Norma can be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
