Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Norene Cooper, of Hinton Alberta, announce her passing on the 10th of November 2021, at the age of 90 years.
Norene was raised and attended school with her sister Sheila in Stony Plain Alberta. She took woodworking in school, a rarity for females in those days, this may have sparked an interest for her future endeavours in life. Norene and her husband Orville moved to Hinton in 1956. She worked at the Bank, the Post Office and was a Seamstress for many years. She enjoyed creating art in many forms and mediums throughout her lifetime, for which she won numerous awards. All the while Norene raised three sons as well as built her dream home in Carldale. She was never afraid of a challenge and jumped in with both feet, whether digging trenches, up on the roof, or building kitchen cupboards.
Norene is predeceased by her husband Orville, her father Emil Miller and mother Gertrude Miller. She is survived by her sister Sheila (Norman) Berry, sons Brent (Connie) Cooper, Gerald (Carol) Cooper and Kevin (Nancy) Cooper, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren, also numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
A huge Thank You to all of Norene’s helpful friends and caring staff at the Pine Valley Lodge, Hinton Hospital, and Hinton Continuing Care. A special Thank You to Dr. Martin for his patience, understanding, and compassion.
A celebration of Norene’s life will be held at the Hinton Legion on November 20th, 2021, from 1-3 pm.
Covid Protocols apply.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her name to the Hinton Resident Care Foundation, 3045 Bradwell Street, Hinton AB. T7V 1S7
