Noreen Patricia MacNeil
New Waterford / St. Margaret’s Village. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Noreen Patricia MacNeil, 70, on Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in St. Margaret’s Village on September 8, 1951, she was the daughter of the late John George and Mary Josephine MacNeil.
Noreen loved fiddle music, especially Ashley MacIsaac. She also enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sisters Julia Burton, Suzanne MacDonald, Lorraine MacNeil, Charlotte MacNeil, Angeline Rees, Evelyn Daoust, and Sylvia Young, her brother Russell (Paula), and her best friend and caregiver for over eight years, Bernadette Miller.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Alex, Gordon, William and Earl, and sister Kathleen.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place Thursday at 1 pm in the parish cemetery, St. Margaret’s Village, with Fr. Alphonsus Iwuji officiating.
