Death Notice
ROWS, Norah – Carrying her family’s love with her, Norah passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London. Beloved wife of Donald Rows for 49 years. Loving mother of Erin Rows (Jarrod Osterback) of Middle Centre and David Rows of Athens, Georgia. Survived by dear sister Mary Ann Fries of London and predeceased by parents Harold R. Newell and Mary W. Flesher, brother Robert W. Newell and infant brother Robert K. Newell.
“Noni” will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Jamieson, Naomi and Ben Osterback and Jack and Harrison Rows.
Fondly remembered by her in-laws, Audrey Newell, Vernon Rows (Brenda), Marg and Bob Rouse as well as many nieces and nephews along with a large circle of friends and neighbours.
Raised in Watford Ontario, Norah attended Watford District High School and subsequently the University of Western Ontario and Althouse College. Norah had a fulfilling career teaching at Medway High School where she made lifelong friends and impacted many students’ lives as a coach, teacher and guidance counselor. It was in these early days at Medway where she met her future husband, Don. In 1973, they purchased and renovated a farm in Lobo which they made into a loving and happy home for their family. Sometime around 1998, Norah finally adjusted to farm life.
Norah enjoyed numerous creative hobbies that included miniatures, gardening, painting, cooking and antique collecting. There was rarely a Saturday garage sale that she could drive past. Despite always having a project on the go, her biggest priority and enjoyment came from spending time with her family.
A celebration of Norah’s life will be held at a later date, time and location to be announced. Arrangements entrusted to Harris Funeral Home, London ON. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the Thames Valley District School Board’s Caring Fund (www.tvdsb.ca/donate) or LHSC’s London Regional Cancer Program (www.lhsf.ca) would be appreciated by the family.
