Nick Zakutin Sunday October 17th 2021

Zakutin, Nick:
With profound sadness, Patricia and family announce the sudden passing of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Nick Zakutin, this past Sunday, October 17, 2021, at St. Mary’s Hospital, at 78 years of age.
Nick is deeply missed by many, including Patricia, his loving wife of 54 years, daughter Kathryn Schubert (Carl), and cherished grandchildren, Paul and Anna. He is also greatly missed by his sister Tamara Brown, and his nieces and nephew. He is now at peace with his beloved, late son David (November 2019).
Nick was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia in 1943, amidst the turmoil of WWII. He immigrated as a refugee to Canada with his mom, dad, and Tamara in 1951, where he worked hard to finish his education, train as a tool and die maker, and build a loving family of his own. As a testament to his humility and hard work, he was a role model to many more than he could possibly imagine.
Nick’s family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 – 10:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener. Memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m., which will also be live streamed at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming. Those wishing to attend please RSVP through the funeral home website or by calling (519) 749-8467.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be gratefully appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
