LAPORTE, NANCY LEE (nee Galbraith)
January 16, 1937 – September 13, 2021
Monday September 13th, 2021 at the Rosebridge Manor, Jasper, ON. Nancy Laporte peacefully entered into rest the age of 84 years with Rick and Lori holding her hands. Nancy Laporte was the beloved wife of Douglas Laporte Jr. for 66 years. She is survived by her middle son, Rick (Lori), Grandson Daniel (Joan) and Great grandson Connor. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Hazel Galbraith (nee Armstrong), her sons, Douglas (Butchie), Michael, a brother Richard (Dick) Galbraith, sister Brenda Jean Morris (nee Galbraith) and her beloved niece, Sherry Dawn (Toot) Wyatt (nee Morris). Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was well liked in her community. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge (Wellington 108) for many years and always ready to give a kind word to anyone. She worked for many years at RCA and then at the Metropolitan Store in downtown Prescott. Nancy was a lifelong friend to Kathrine Creamer and she loved to share stories of their many adventures over the years. For Nancy, the greatest sadness in her life was the passing of her son Butchie, her happiest moment was the birth of her grandson, Daniel. She did not know her great grandson, Connor but she would have been very proud of him. Just one more thing that Alzheimer’s stole from her.
Funeral Service will be held in St. Paul’s United Church 190 Dibble St. West Prescott, ON Tuesday, September 21st, 2021 at 1pm.
