Myrtle’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the Bailey family announce the passing of our loving mother, Myrtle Bailey on November 27th, 2021, at the age of 82, just one day before her 83rd birthday. After a brief illness, our mom passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Though our mom’s passing leaves a deep void within us, we take comfort in knowing she is finally home with her personal savior, Jesus Christ, and has been reunited with our father and many other loved ones and friends who went before her.
She was predeceased by: her husband and best friend, Wilfred Bailey; her parents Theodore & Mary Burden; sister Georgia Hatcher; Grandson Adam Piercey; and daughter-in-law Irene Bailey.
She leaves to mourn: her nine children: Gary, Paul (Sheila), Glenn (Joanne), Shawn (Judy), Gail (Edward) Piercey, Scott (Sherry), Dean (Paulette), Derek (Tracey) and Carolynn (Angus); her sister Florence Parsons; brothers: Derek (Jacqueline) Burden, and Brian (Nina) Burden; and grandchildren: Michael (Karen), Kayla (Justin), Thomas, Kelsey (Emma), Zach, Erika (Andrew), Jordan, William (Kayla), Joseph and Jacob. Also leaving to mourn: her many great grandchildren and a large circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.

A very special thank you to Dr. Segok and Dr. Abdulwanis of Fort McMurray, AB for going above and beyond to ensure our mother received the best care possible. You hold a very special place in our hearts.
Thank you to everyone for the many messages and displays of concern we’ve received. It means a lot to know how much our mother was loved by all who knew her.
