At University Hospital, London, on Saturday July 31st, 2021, Mrs. Myrna Yakubovich a long-time resident of Florence in her 83rd year. Cherished daughter of the late Sherman and Hazel Card. Beloved wife of the late Steve (2017). Loving mother of Darlene Groenenberg and her husband John of Dresden and their children Andy (Colleen) and their children Darcy and Ian, and Brad (Sarina); Susan Rickman and her husband Jeff of Florence and their children Chris (Leslie) and their children Bailey and Trent, and Amy (Justin) McLellan and their children Brianna, Mykayla and Emma; and Tammy Elliott and her husband Scott of Shetland and their children Ryan (Amanda) and their children Owen, Avaya, and Eric, and Dayna (Glynn) and their daughter Elsie. Dear sister of Ida Vsetula, Luella Courneyea, Elaine (Mervyn) Jaques, and Eldon (Bernice) Card. Myrna was an active member of her church and her community. She loved gardening, her walking club and chair yoga. Myrna was a talented quilter and quilted numerous quilts with her friends of the “Village Stitchers”. A private family funeral will be held with interment St. Matthew’s Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington St. West, Chatham, 519-352-2710. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, The Mental Health Network of Chatham-Kent, and Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
