Morton A. Mitchell , 94, passed away on Sunday, September 26,
2021 at the Charlotte County Hospital, St Stephen, NB.
Born in Leverville, NB, son of the late Alfred and Agnes
Mitchell.
Morton ran his own construction company, “Morton
Mitchell Construction” for many years. His craftmanship and work
was well respected throughout Charlotte County.
He was also very active in Kiwanis, Masonic Lodge, and
Shriners. He held many positions and dedicated himself to the craft
and working to support the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
Morton worked tirelessly keeping the books and supporting Quinn
House.
Morton was very active in the church and served on the church
board at the Wesley United Church. In most recent years , he was a
member of the Greenock Presbyterian Church.
Morton is survived by his loving wife, Audrey (Emerson) with
whom he shared 70 years of marriage. He is also survived by son, Eric
(Cindy) of St Andrews, NB., daughters, Donna (Wilf) of Whitehorse,
YT., Theresa (Art) of Victoria, BC and Holly (Les) of Fredericton,
NB., grandchildren, Sarah, Christina, Heather, Angela, Melissa,
Katrina, Christopher, Kimberly and Mark, great grandchildren, Connor,
Luke and Jaxon, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Ester and brothers, Ronald,
Lester, Lloyd and Kenneth.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23
Main Street, St Stephen, NB from where the funeral service will be
held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 2 PM. Visiting hours will be
held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6-8 PM.
A Masonic service will be held on Wednesday evening at 7:45
PM.
Please be advised, that due to the new
mandatory regulations imposed by the New Brunswick government,
everyone 12 years of age and older, must show proof of vaccination or
medical exemption certificate and government issued ID to attend the
funeral service or visitation. Face masks are mandatory and must be
worn at all times while in the building.
Interment at St. Andrews Rural Cemetery, St Andrews,
NB.
