n the paragraph that says she was actively involved with……could you just change that to “enjoyed her involvement with….ELLIS: Mona Murray, age 101, daughter of Clark and Beulah Murray went home to be with her Lord on October 27th2021. She was born in Caledonia, Queens County on March 8th 1920. She was predeceased by Frank, her loving husband of fifty-three years and sister Edna MacKay.
She is survived by their four daughters: Marilyn Ray (Leon), Penticton, B.C.; Gloria Gilbert, Osborne Harbour, N.S.; Nanci McLennan, Calgary, Alberta; and Susan Calnen, Elmsdale, N.S. She is also survived by her sister Maxine Murray Stewart, Falmouth N.S., five grandchildren, and two generations of great grandchildren.
Mona attended school, and taught Sunday School in Caledonia, and later received her secretarial diploma in Bridgewater, and worked in that capacity until her marriage. Mona had a great appreciation of music, and loved dancing with Corte, figure skating, swimming, baseball, bridge club, and cribbage. She had fond memories of the years she spent travelling and camping particularly at Taylor Head Beach with her family, and thoroughly enjoyed their cottage days near Greenfield where she shared many happy times with her husband, family, and numerous friends. Mona was a devoted member of Bedford Baptist Church, where she initiated the CGIT Program, and served on various committees over the years. She enjoyed her involvement with the Friendship Circle, Greeters and Visitation Committees, and was a great encouragement and supporter of the youth group. She will be sadly missed by her dear friends and the many who enjoyed her company over the years. We are deeply grateful to Melville Lodge for the love, support and care she received during her stay there.
Funeral service will be held 2;00 pm Monday November 1, 2021 in Bedford Baptist Church with the committal service to follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bedford, Nova Scotia.
