Fyfe, Millie
1923 – 2021
Millie passed away peacefully in the loving company of family. She was a loving mother to all, a model of decency and thoughtfulness. She understood the value of a Thank You note. She was an embodiment of that special Maritime warmth and hospitality. You were always welcome at the kitchen table to share a meal, often punctuated with laughter. She enjoyed Halloween pranks, once impersonating Tina Turner.
She played many roles: RCAF medical assistant, medical secretary, hockey mom, wife,
loving Auntie, devoted sister, school librarian, hospital volunteer, member of Emmanuel United Church, fashionista, golfing partner, caring neighbour, confidant, and travel companion.
She loved the thrill of travel, ready at a moments notice to pack her bags and explore this big wide world. Favourite destinations included Machu Picchu, the Galapagos, and the Algarve.
A big “Thank You” to all her loving neighbours who helped her maintain her fierce independence, permitting her to stay in her own house until the Fall of 2020.
She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Lindsay and Robert, and her devoted daughter-in-law, Sandy. Millie passed away one day shy of her 98th birthday. Wish her God’s speed on her next great adventure and keep her generous spirit in your heart.
There will be a private service for Millie this fall. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice.
