Mildred’s Obituary
ELLIS, Mildred Maggie – age 94, Villa Acadienne, Meteghan, formerly of Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 in the Villa Acadienne surrounded by family. Born May 10, 1927 in Nipigon, ON, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Annie (Comeau) Maillet. Mildred was a welcoming face and dedicated friend and caregiver. She loved feeding anyone who walked through her door, working outside in her yard, and above all, her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Patricia Street (Franz Phister), Port Hardy, BC; Sherry (Ted) Rutledge, Fanny Bay, BC; James Ellis (Debbie Boudreau), Woodstock; Nathalie Ellis-Currie (Darrell Currie), Port Maitland, as well as by 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters, Nathalie (Sandy) Maillet, Joyce Maillet, Muriel Paige and a brother, Wilfred Maillet. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward E. Ellis; sons, Wilfred Ellis and Edward Ellis, as well as by two grandsons; sisters, Merise Bailey and Marion Lussier; a brother, William Maillet. Please note that there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m, Monday, November 1 from Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, Father Pat O’Meara officiating. Interment will follow in St-Vincent-de-Paul Cemetery, Salmon River. Memorial donations may be made to the Villa Acadienne.
