RACANELLI, Michele (Mike)
With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of Michele (Mike) Racanelli on Christmas Day 2021. Mike was a devoted husband to Rosa, cherished father to his son Sam (Anna) and his daughter Enza (Gino). Proud grandfather to Veronica, Michael, Anthony and Mark. He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Mike came to Canada in 1956 to be with his childhood sweetheart Rosa. Together they worked hard to provide a better life for themselves and their children. They had many friends and Mike was very involved in the Italian community in Canada. He was loved by many and known for being a very hard worker, very principled, generous and kind man. Mike loved spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren. He loved music, especially opera and was known by all his friends as a great dancer.
Visitation (appointment only) will be held at Bernardo Funeral Home (2960 Dufferin St., south of Lawrence Ave. W.) on Monday January 3, 2022 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Guests will need to schedule and reserve their time slot to attend the visitation. Each time slot will be limited to 10 people. You can reserve your time slot using the Bernardo Funeral Home website (details below). To schedule a visitation time, scroll down to “Service Details” and click the blue RSVP button to select a time. A proper face mask (not cloth) and social distancing are mandatory, proof of double vaccination and contact tracing information will be collected upon entering the building. Flowers should only be sent to the funeral home not to the Church.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church (1415 Royal York Rd., Etobicoke) on Tuesday January 4, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. The family is asking all friends and relatives to go directly to the church on the morning of the mass. A proper face mask (not cloth) and social distancing are mandatory during the mass as well.
Michele will be laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Ave. W., Toronto) following the service with only his children and wife in attendance.
Donations in Michele’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society. Michele will be held dear in the hearts of all his family and friends.
