Michael Long 1965 2021

Obituary of Michael Long
It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Leo Long announce his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, April 24, 2021. Born in Maccan, NS, October 6, 1965, Michael was the son of the late Leo and Ruth (Dunlop) Long.
Michael’s greatest passion was his family and his beloved furry friends, Charlie, Teddy and Gatsby. He enjoyed every opportunity to spend time at his Father’s cottage in Linden Beach, NS, as well as taking his children fishing in Guysborough. He was an individual who loved taking care of those around him, which included a passion for creating new recipes for his family and friends and always being there to help out others when needed. Michael worked as a senior business advisor with Ambir and then Ernst Young for a number of years.
In 2015, Michael was a recipient of organ donation and was incredibly blessed with the second chance at life he received.
He will be tremendously missed by Maureen, his wife of 25 years, his four children, Dawson, Joseph, Benjamin, and Gabriel; siblings, Donna Thorheim (Einar Fiskerstrand), Norway, John (Denise) Long, Halifax, Greg (Wanda) Herrett, Springhill, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, Leo and Ruth, Michael was predeceased by his step-mother Claire (Hunter) Long, and sisters Jackie Gregg, Shauna Stewart and Lori Herrett-Power.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date when all of his loved ones can be together.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). For those who wish, donations in Michael’s memory may be made to the Kidney or Liver Foundations of Canada or to a charity of the donors choice.
