It is with broken hearts that the family of Michael announce his unexpected passing at home on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 67.
Dear and loving son of Helen Henye and the late Gaza Henye. Forever in the hearts of his sister Jane Marr (Kelly) od Wainfleet, brother Leslie Henye (Kathy), of Arizona and brother Richard Henye (Ava) of Toronto.
Cherished and loved uncle of Melissa Fletcher (John), Meagan Regis (Rian) Victoria Henye (Nataneal), and Aaron Henye (Cindy).
Also the great”est” uncle of Reed and Lincoln Fletcher, Madeline Henye, Nathan and Natalie Herman.
Michael retired from General Motors. His favorite past time was wood carving and he was exceptional at it. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus & former Grand Knight at St. Alexander’s Catholic Church. He volunteered for many years at Woodlands of Sunset, where he would bring joy to so many. Michael was an outstanding man whose care and compassion for others could be seen by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by us all.
Our family will receive friends at the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME 1292 Pelham Street in Fonthill on Friday, October 1st from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm with vigil prayers at 3pm. Masks and social distancing are required.
The funeral mass will be held for family on Saturday, October 2, with the Rite of Committal to follow at Fonthill Cemetery. Anyone wanting to watch the service can do so via livestream on the funeral homes Facebook page that day.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to the Child Amputee Program (Champ) or Sick Kids Foundation. (See below)
