Meredith’s Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Meredith Patricia MacDonald on Friday, October 1st, 2021. Meredith was born on March 30th, 1983 as Patrick Milton, to Patsy and Claude MacDonald of Isle aux Morts.
She is predeceased by her grandparents, William and Ethel Leamon, Ephraim and Christine MacDonald, and uncles Milton MacDonald and Gerald Leamon.
She has left to mourn her two daughters, Alice Flynn and Riley MacDonald, parents Patsy and Claude MacDonald, brother Lorenzo MacDonald and sister-in-law Raylene MacDonald, nephew Cameron MacDonald, in-laws Charles and Kimberly Courtney, sister-in law Sarah Courtney, mother to our children and best friend Alexandra MacDonald, as well as a large number of friends, coworkers and family.
Meredith MacDonald was a devoted and compassionate mother, a dear friend, and one of the kindest people to everyone that knew her. She was known for her selflessness. If you were ever in a time of need Meredith was always there to offer a helping hand and support you when you needed it the most.
In 2014, Meredith took it upon herself to become a parent to Alice Flynn, a bouncing little one year old who quickly had Meredith wrapped around her finger. She treated Alice as if she was her own and never looked back. In 2015, Meredith and Alexandra welcomed a second daughter, Riley, who instantly had the same effect.
In September 2020, Meredith explained to family and friends that she was transgender and for the last year has been living her life to the fullest. Meredith quickly became known for her colorful clothing and wigs, embracing her true identity.
Meredith has taught those around her to be who you are and to live your life without fear or regrets. Meredith was an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed by all.
In keeping with Meredith’s wishes, a private visitation will take place with cremation to follow. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 10th at 2 p.m. from Holy Spirit Anglican Church, Isle aux Morts officiated by Rev. Edward Coleman. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Meredith can be made to the family.
