At his residence in Woodstock, on Friday, June 25, 2021, in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Jean McDaniel (2016). Loving father of Wendy (Tim) McCoy and Dave (Nikki) McDaniel. Devoted grandfather of Sean (Michelle), Colin, Katie, Cameron, Nicholas, and Thomas; and great-grandfather of Henry and Aoife. Dear brother-in-law of Lois Ritchie. A memorial service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. The family welcomes friends to participate in the service via livestream. Registration is required to attend the visitation and service or to view the livestream.

Within my floral-decked retreat
Old Friends once more come me to greet,
To reminisce about the past;
Those forty years before the mast.
We sailed around the Seven Seas
From Zanzibar to Hebrides,
But roving, now, is at an end;
In quiet ease our days we spend.
A gentle smile with pensive air
Reflects a state that has no care,
As, by my side, friends eulogize
A life now shorn of earthly ties.
Be not of downcast mien, old mates,
By what life’s end eliminates;
Just think of voyaging on a sea
That reaches to infinity!
