McClean Robert Hugh November 18 2021

On November 18,2021 Hugh passed away at St. Joe’s Palliative Care Unit in Edmonton, Alberta.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Judy, Grant (Bev), Sharon (Ed), Sandy (Pat), Rodney (Marla), Bonnie (Jim) and numerous nephews, nieces and their families.
Hugh’s nickname was Smirky because he always seemed to have a mischievous sly grin warning us something happened or was going to happen. He was a world traveller for work and in his personal life. Throughout the years he was employed to carry out many big building projects in Canada and abroad and as soon as he visited Thailand, he fell in love with the people and culture. His family and friends could write a book about his adventures that we were all eventually part of.
He was very proud of his family and touched base with Aunts, Uncles and Cousins when he was back in Canada. There was never a dull moment and he will always be remembered and loved for all the good things he wanted for his family and the world.
He is pre-deceased by his parents James & Marjorie McClean, brother in-law Murray McKilligan and nephew Scott McKilligan.
Due to the current Covid-19 gathering restrictions there will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family asks in lieu of flowers, do something kind for your fellow man and “pay it forward” in memory of Hugh.
Irish Blessing
May the Road rise to
meet you. May the wind
be always at your back,
May the sun shine
warm upon your face
and until we meet again
May the LORD hold you
In the the palm of his hand.
