Maureen Mohammed Rail – 78, Truro, passed away
peacefully on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Colchester East Hants
Health Centre, Truro. Born in Birmingham, England, she was the
daughter of the late Mohammed and Constance (Ball) Ali.
Maureen worked as an accountant with Livingstone
International. She married Fred in 1962 in Camborne, Cornwall,
England, and they immigrated to Fort Erie, Ontario, in 1965. After
many years in Ontario, they moved to Truro in 2008 with their extended
family, Mary and Nigel Fleming.
Maureen is survived by her loving husband of 59 years,
Frederick Eric “Fred” Rail; daughter, Tracy McRavey,
Oakville, Ontario; grandchildren, Meghan McRavey and Matthew McRavey,
Oakville, Ontario; brother, Kushi (Barbara) Ali, Torquay, Devon,
England; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Maureen’s
family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 p.m., Friday, December 17,
2021. (Please use the main front doors of the funeral
home and note that proof of double vaccination and photo
identification must be presented and masks must be worn at all times;
thank you for your co-operation.)
Interment will be held at a later date in Bible Hill
Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations
in Maureen’s memory to Bible Hill Cemetery are welcomed.
