Matthew was born in Whitehorse, Yukon. Being a large baby, the Natives called him “Moose” which is a nick name we still use. At the age of one the family moved to Prince Rupert, B.C. Five years later we moved to Slocan, B.C., where we call home. When Matthew was 17, we moved to Kitimat, B.C. There he became a Sea Cadet with the RSCSS #205 Kitamaat and found his love for sailing. Matt moved to Cranbrook for a short time then moved back to Kitimat and became a member of the Canadian Rangers, part of the Canadian Air Force. He moved to Yellowknife for a few months and then settled in Grande Prairie where he found his dream job and proudly obtained his class 1 license and drove cement truck for Sanjel. In September of 2019 he was in a truck accident and was working on his recovery.
Matthew had a big heart for helping people, always helping others to a fault. He never had a family of his own but loved his nephews and nieces.
May you Rest in Peace, until we meet again. We all Love you so very much and will miss you.
