Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Thompson
Betty Thompson, 91, of Fredericton, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Betty enjoyed the last three years of her life at Eden Retirement Villa in Fredericton. She was a social butterfly and very much loved by the residents and the staff. She loved playing Bingo, doing chair yoga and listening to performers who sang and played music at the Villa. She was well taken care of by the staff and a special thanks to Savannah for her love and compassion as she held a special place in Betty’s heart.
She is survived by her children, Judy Petrossie, Bonnie Dempsey (Dan), John Norris (Kim) and Brian Norris (Linda); her granddaughters, Vicki Dunham (Peter) and Danielle Dempsey; her grandsons, Joe and Todd Petrossie. Besides her parents, Weldon Williams and Eunice McIntyre; she was predeceased by her first husband, Hazen Norris and second husband, Herman Thompson; her oldest son, Jimmy; son-in-law, Fred Petrossie; and two brothers, Weldon and Ronald Williams.
Special thanks to all of the kind and caring staff in the ICU at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton who took very good care of her during the last week of her life; and special thanks to Marlee for staying by her side until she passed.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Fredericton SPCA. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
