  1. Although I knew Mary when we were both working in S.D. #59, it was through her work with ESL students following her retirement in Dawson Creek that I got to know her better. Mary was like a mother to my wife, Vera, and helped her learn to function in an English-speaking community, and also helped her to get her fitness business going. Mary had patience, and was generous with her time, often spending six or more hours per day helping Vera adjust to Dawson Creek.
