BIGNEY Mary G. (nee McDevitt) (April 25, 1923 – December 12, 2021) –
Passed away, peacefully at the L.H.S.C. – University Campus, London, on Sunday, December 12th, 2021, Mary Bigney (née McDevitt), formerly of Hickory Hills, on Wilson Ave., Tillsonburg, in her 99th year. Mary was born in Shediac, New Brunswick on April 25, 1923. Mary moved to Montreal after WW2, where she met and married Charles Bigney in 1949. They had four children (Linda Gibbons, Bruce Bigney, Bryan Bigney, and Debbie Johnston). She is survived by 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mary was a resident of Windermere on the Mount retirement home in London, ON since 2008, and her family is grateful for the comfort and care she received.
A private family Funeral Liturgy of Christian Burial has been planned in the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes – Burial and Cremation Services Inc. Chapel, Tillsonburg, officiated by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kuriacko. Inurnment will take place in the Tillsonburg Cemetery Columbarium Wall. Memorial donations in Mary’s memory to the “Canadian Cancer Society” would be gratefully acknowledged by the Bigney family and can be made through the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, 262 Broadway, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238, entrusted with all funeral arrangements, with confidence.
