Mary McCarthy 19592021

Mary McCarthy
1959-2021
It is with great sadness that the family of
Mary McCarthy (Balser) announces her passing at the age of 61 on
January 7, 2021. Born in New Germany, Nova Scotia, she was
the daughter of the late Raymond and Vera Balser.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years
Merrill, daughters Tanya (Bobby), Loretta (Lyle), Carrie-Ann (Tony),
Amanda (Mike) and son Merrill (Angee), numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren, and siblings Richard, Ellen, Candice (Bryant) and
Bobby. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mary was
predeceased by her siblings Raymond, Johnny, Douglas, Laura, Pam, and
Carolyn.
Mary had a passion
for baking and spent much of her life working as a baker in various
restaurants. She was best known for her doughnuts which
would always sell out within minutes. She spent most of
her summers at horse and ox pulls in the announcement booth keeping
track of their scores. In her most recent years, she had
dedicated all of her time to her two beloved fur-babies, Zaily and
Squirt.
Due to the current
gathering
restrictions, only a
private family service will be held at this time. A
celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a future date
with details announced at that time.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Mary to the
MS Society or the SPCA would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional
care and direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville, where
