It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Margaret Boucher of St. Peter’s, CB on November 2, 2021 at Strait Richmond Hospital. Mary Margaret was born May 28, 1918; the only daughter of the late Edward C. and Annie (Simmons) Joyce of Halifax.
She worked for the Federal Government in the Pension Department, which she retired in Toronto in 1983.
Len and Marg settled into St. Peter’s, CB after retirement. They both loved entertaining, Cape Breton music and dancing.
She was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church and Bonnie Brae Seniors. She enjoyed playing Lions TV Bingo, and receiving mail from family and friends.
Marg is survived by her son, Bill Ridgley Jr. (Barb) who were her caregivers, Marg is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Dawn (Kevin); Kim (Marlon); James; Cyril James; 18 great grandchildren and 31 great great grandchildren.
Marg was predeceased by her first husband, Bill Ridgley Sr., husband, Len Boucher; daughter, Anne Paris; grandchildren, Peggy and Charles Paris; and 6 brothers.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on November 10, 2021 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s; Rev. John Yake officiating, burial to follow in the Parish cemetery. Masks and proof of full vaccination will be required. Following the funeral service, a celebration of life will be held at the Bonnie Brae Seniors’ Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury.
