1954-2021
Mary Ellen Levangie, passed away in her home surrounded by
family on July 25, 2021.
Mary was born on September 27, 1954, the second of five
children to Vincent “Benny” and Phyllis Dwyer. Mary
lived in Trenton for most of her life and could be seen walking her
cherished dog, Molly, in Trenton Park.
Mary worked for the Nova Scotia Community College in the
kitchen for 19 years. She was famous for making her “Mary
Egg-er”.
Mary was married to Joseph Levangie for 46 years and had a
son, Joey (Sarah) and chosen daughter, Annette and chosen
grandchildren, Luke and Alexis.
Mary loved to tole paint and quilt. She was a wonderful cook.
But most of all, she loved spending time with friends and
family.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Joe; son, Joey
(Sarah); brother, Ronald (Gena) Dwyer; sisters, Lorraine (Steve)
Langley; Katherine Spears; and Loretta (Milton) Brooker; chosen
daughter, Annette Leslie; chosen grandchildren, Luke and Alexis;
mother-in-law, Rita Brown; sister-in-law, Daisy Brown; nieces, Janice,
Melanie, Kim, Joanna; nephews, Steven, Chris, Brian, Patrick and
Chad.
The family would like to say a thank you to family and
friends who visited and supported Mary and Joe through this difficult
time. They would like to say a special thank you to Loretta Brooker
and Annette Leslie for the 24-hour care provided during the final
days. Also, thanks to family Doctor TR Park, VON Staff and the
Palliative Care Unit for all the care and assistance during this
time.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A
private graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Pictou County SPCA. Arrangements are
under the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home.
