RAMSEYER, Mary Leah, 78, of Tavistock passed away suddenly at Stratford General Hospital on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. She was born in East Zorra Township, Oxford County on April 22, 1943 a daughter of the late Benjamin and Elmina (Wagler) Ruby.
Mary had been involved in the New Hamburg Thrift Centre since its early years. She was also a caterer and wedding planner with Quehl’s Catering in Tavistock. She was a lifetime active member of East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th Line, R.R. #1, Tavistock.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Joel Ramseyer whom she married on September 18, 1964, three daughters, Anita (Brad) Capeling, Laurie Yantzi, Heidi (Brian) Wagler; one son, Rodney Ramseyer (Erin Bender); 14 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Mary Ellen) Ruby; one sister, Margaret (Ralph) Roth; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Anna Reibling, Verna and David Bender, Katherine Ward, Carol and Richard Ropp, Kathy Ramseyer, Marilyn and Doug Filsinger.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Bruce Ruby and Royden Ruby; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Ramseyer, David Reibling and Floyd Ward.
Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th Line, R.R. #1, Tavistock, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Ray Martin will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th Line. (Covid restrictions apply, please wear masks and social distance).
