Mary Johnston
August 08, 1931 – December 01, 2021
It is with sad hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Mary Johnston on November 29, 2021 at 90 years of age. Mary was born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island on August 8th 1931, the daughter of Chester and Beatrice (Noonan) Gaudet.
Mary made her home in Dartmouth in 1957, working for many years at the candy counter of Woolworth’s and also the Owl Drug Store. She always had a beautiful smile and loved life. Mary was a great cook and had sweets available for all visitors. She was well known for her homemade popsicles as the unofficial Queen of Aberdeen Court. Mary was the first one on the dance floor and the last to leave any party. Mary always spent lots of time to look her best, and helped keep Pond’s Cold Cream and Oil of Olay in business over the decades.
Mary will be fondly remembered by her many neighbors, friends and acquaintances as a kind, generous and caring person. She enjoyed her home and dear kittycats (especially Missy), visiting family in Prince Edward Island each summer, and yearly Thanksgivings in California.
She is survived by her children, Nancy (Gary), Allan (Jane) and Darlene (Wylie), her grandchildren Foster, Olivia, Angela and Michael, her sisters Barbara Ozon and Sylvia Murphy, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Henry Gaudet and grandson Jeremy.

We would also like to thank Doctors Adams, Biglar, Duke and Mineni at the Dartmouth Medical Centre and Dr. Malik at Dartmouth General Hospital for their compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the late spring next year.
