Obituary
On October 22, 2021, Mary Burns, well loved, passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta. Mary was 97 years old. Mary leaves behind many to treasure her memory; her children, Jennifer Barchard (Barry) of Edmonton, David Burns of Calgary and Elizabeth Pasek of Edmonton and their children, Robert, Kelli, Marissa, Michael, Anne, Geoffrey and Sean, and her great granddaughter, Elora. Mary is also survived by her siblings Robert, Elizabeth and Linda. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Bob, her mother, Elizabeth, her father, John, and her siblings John, Leonard, Fred, and Joan.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at St. Catherine’s Anglican Church, Edson, Alberta at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Johnny Pooten presiding.
Interment will take place at the McLeod Valley Cemetery, north of Peers, followed by a reception at the Burns farm.
In lieu of floral tributes the family would appreciate donations, in Mary’s memory, to the Cross Cancer Institute, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6G 1Z2.
Mary worked at the Cross Cancer Institute as a physiotherapist for many years. She and her husband, Bob, enjoyed supporting the community of St. Columba Church in years past. Mary loved her family, nature, gardening, travel, painting, adventures, and a good party!
