MOORE
Following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s Mary Elizabeth Moore passed away on Oct 24,2021.
Mary was born on January 10th 1940, in Meadowvale Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. Mary spent her
younger years in Terrace Bay and was very involved in athletics and swimming. She was well known for
her sewing, especially her baby bonnets, which she made with love for her granddaughters and donated
many to TBRHC during her many years as a volunteer. She was a wonderful grandmother to her
grandchildren always having homemade treats, maple walnut ice cream and butterscotch pie. Mary
loved crafting, collecting pine cones to make wreaths and doing cross-stitch. Mom enjoyed walks and
the change of the seasons to which her house was decorated accordingly. She spent many summers
camping at Sleeping Giant with Ivar and grandchildren. Mom always looked forward to travelling to
Nova Scotia to spend time with special cousins Peter Dodge, Nancy Stoddard and families.
She worked as a RPN for many years, which she loved. Starting at George Jefferies Hospital and retiring
at Westmount.
She will be loving remembered by her daughter Kathy, son Rick (Jennifer), Grandchildren Rod Black,
Jennifer Viscount (Travis), Kate Clark (Mitchell), Nikki Moore and Madison Moore. Great grandchildren
Delilah James Clark and Thomas Cecil Douglas Viscount. Numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Thomas, sister Margaret, her parents Norval and Grace Banks, special
partner Ivar Swanson and her beloved cat Gus.
Special thanks to the staff at Hogarth Riverview Manor for their many years of care for Mom.
“We remember their love when they can no longer remember”
