Passed away at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of 56 years of Douglas Peters. Loving mother of Lisa Morikawa (Dave), Laura Johnson (Glenn) and Jenny Gardner (John). Cherished grandmother of Kristy (the late Norm), Lucas (Meghan), Katelyn, Beckey (John), Hannah, Kendra, Abby and Shane and 9 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Esther (nee Davis) Balch, Mary is survived by her siblings Ann, John (Karen), Clare (Jan) and Janet. She will be dearly missed by her in-laws Gord (Martha), Julie (Jim), Jan (Bill) and Bev as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary was a lifelong member of Wentworth Baptist Church. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Wentworth Baptist Church, 120 Wentworth St N, Hamilton, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 11-1p.m. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family memorial service will be held. Urn interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mary are asked to please consider Wentworth Baptist Church, Camp Oneida or the Nephrology Unit at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
