Marlene Gowan 1944 2021

It is with deep sadness that the family of Marlene M.
(Harris) Gowan announces her homegoing at Passamaquoddy Lodge, St
Andrews NB on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Born in Back Bay, she also lived in St Andrews, before
moving to her permanent home in Bocabec. Marlene loved
singing and was a long-time member of the Valley Gospel
Singers. Knitting was also one of her favourite hobbies, and
many members of her family continue to enjoy some of her
handiwork. She loved her many family and friends, and was a
devoted member of Gateway Cathedral, St Stephen where she
served her Lord faithfully.
Marlene was the loving wife of Norval Gowan of Bocabec
NB for 60+ years. Loving mother of Marilyn McNeil (Shawn),
Dale Gowan (Janice), Dean Gowan (Lisa), Wendy MacDonald
(Brent), and foster son, Rick Layton. Marlene is also
survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who
were the apple of her eye, as well as a brother Ray
Harris.
Predeceased by her parents, Willard and Helen (Libby)
Harris, sister Ruth Howard, and infant son “Little
Ray”.
No visitation or public memorial service is planned. A
private graveside service for immediate family will be
held.
For those who wish donations to a charity of
one’s choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be sent
to the family online at www.mehanfuneralhome.ca
The family would like to thank Marlene’s
caregivers for their many kindnesses over the last number of years as
her health has waned.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Marlene Gowan 1944 2021..
