Marks, Cheryl ‘Sherry’
July 25th, 2021
June 25, 1958 – July 25, 2021
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Sherry Marks on Sunday, July 25, 2021. She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend of those whose lives she touched.
Born in London, Ontario, Sherry carved the path of possibility for those who were dedicated to their work. Through her 41 years of service with London Life (now Canada Life), she was well known for her intellect, work ethic, sense of humour, and commitment to assertiveness when faced with challenges in her role. In 2018, she retired as the Manager of Field Relations, and left a legacy of female empowerment in the workplace.
Sherry made an impact on all of the lives she touched and was often coined as ‘the life of the party’, bringing joy and laughter into social settings accompanied by music and dancing. She was known to keep an immaculate house, was highly skilled in problem solving, and kept everyone in her life organized (this included weekly reminders, such as garbage day). A father’s girl at heart, gardening and puttering around were also a passion.
Sherry blessed us with her daughter, Chenise, with love and dedication to ensure her ‘baby’ was a symbolism of her most admirable qualities: strength, charisma and whit.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 23 years, John; her only child, Chenise; sister, Tracy (Brian) Hartwick; brother, Jeff (Kathryn) Levitt; her parents, Ken and Mary Levitt; as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by her friends at the RiverBend Golf Community, as well as her Hunt Club neighbourhood walking buddies.
The family would like to thank the palliative care team on the 6th floor at Victoria Hospital, for the kind and compassionate care given to Sherry.
A Celebration of Sherry’s Life will be held at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Registration is required to attend.
