LAIRD, Marion Louise October 17, 1930 − May 06, 2021 Marion Louise Laird (nee Quarmby) passed away peacefully at Chemainus Health Care Center with family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of over 65 years, daughter Sharon(Allan), son Micheal, daughter Janet(Larry), brother Alan Quarmby (Emily), 13 grandchildren and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews cousins and a very special Aunt Gracie Bird in Victoria BC.
Marion was born in Victoria, BC. but spent most of her life in Duncan and the Cowichan Valley. After graduating from Nurses training at St Josephs Hospital she worked at Kings Daughter’s Hospital in Duncan. She married Roy at Duncan United Church in 1955 and was an active member there for 60 years. She especially enjoyed all the events and planning with the Get Together’s group. She will always be remembered for her smile that lit up her eyes and her love of cooking and baking, especially Apple Pie.
Special Thanks to the years of wonderful care by the staff of Chemainus Health Care Center and Dr Manhas. A family gathering is hoped to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Duncan Hospice Society. “… and what does the Lord require of us …but to walk humbly with our God” Micha6:8
