Marion Elizabeth (Betty) Wedge
1920-2021
It is with loving hearts that the family of Betty Wedge
announces her passing on September 13, 2021 at the Jordan Life Care
Centre one month shy of her 101st birthday. Her anecdotes of
family and world awareness persisted into her final
hours.
Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of John Wolstenholme
Sr. and Ellen (McMahon) Wolstenholme. Betty was predeceased by her
husband Raymond Wedge. She was the last surviving member of her
immediate family. Betty is survived by her sisters-in-law
Ferne Wolstenholme and Joan Varnyck and brother-in-law Ernest Wedge,
as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Betty received a secretarial diploma from Marianopolis
College and a teacher’s certificate from the New Brunswick Normal
School. She worked for Atlantic Blue Cross for several
years. Betty was a keen bridge player to the end.
Visitation will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home
and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on
Tuesday, September 21,2021 from 10:00 to 10:30 am. with a funeral mass
celebrating Betty’s life to take place on Tuesday, September 21,2021
at 11:00 am from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Moncton, with Father
Charlie Broderick officiating. The interment will take place
in the Shediac Road Catholic Cemetery. For those who wish, donations
in Betty’s memory may be made to the charity of the
donor’s choice. Online condolences may be
