It is with great sadness that the family of Marilyn Jane Manwaring (nee Riley), announces her passing on March 17, 2021, after a brief illness at the age of 89 years. She died peacefully at her home in Orillia, with her family at her side. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband Peter of 66 years, their children and spouses: Pat and Dave Collyer, Bruce and Jayne Manwaring, Nancy and Bryan Beatty, and Greg and Sandi Manwaring. Marilyn will also be fondly remembered by her 12 grandchildren: Jennifer (Yan), Elizabeth, Steven (Michelle), Leslie (Greg), Dan, Michelle (Cody), Peter (Erin), Janice (Reese), David (Yvonne), Stephanie (Bill), Katherine and Scott, and her 10 Great Grandchildren.
Marilyn was born in Ottawa, to Clifford and Dorothy Riley, and had a younger brother David. The family moved to Saskatoon, where she met and married Peter. They raised their family in Ontario save for a short stint in Edmonton. Marylin was a Royal Conservatory trained pipe organist, continuing to play at church services right into her 89th year. Her eye to detail made her an accomplished seamstress, and her determination kept her socially informed and physically fit. She was a foster parent, social worker, loved music, and a beer with her pizza. Nothing was more important to her than her family.
The family are extremely grateful for the thoughtful and loving care provided by Dr. Kristan Farn, the Bayshore Nurses, and the LHINS staff.
A private Funeral Service in memory of Marilyn will be held at St. James Anglican Church. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Marilyn, to St. James Anglican Church, 58 Peter Street, Orillia, ON, L3V 6J6 and will be received by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Homes, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia, (705) 326-3595
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Marilyn Jane Manwaring 2021..
