Marilyn Dawn Hatt
It is with a great sense of loss we announce the passing of Marilyn Dawn Hatt on September 23, 2021 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital(Palliative Care Unit), Sydney Nova Scotia. We also rejoice that Marilyn’s departure meant a release from this travail, guided by the hand of Jesus into the very Throne Room of God (Jude 24-25; 2Cor 5:1).
Marilyn was born March 14, 1943 in Cross Creek, New Brunswick and is survived by her sons Mark (Neila) of Sydney NS and Timothy (Caroline) of Minneapolis MN, her grandchildren Keegan (Jenny), Kirsten, Jadon(Sophie), Stephen, Kara and Preston and a great granddaughter Lily. She is survived also by 8 sisters and 4 brothers: Nancy MacDonald, Heather (John)Hoag, Beverly (Ken) Carruthers, Sherry (Dale) Stewart, Cynthia (Maurice)Richard, Ed (Cathie) Wilson, Kenny (Rachel) Wilson, Kathy (John) Wilson, Jackie(Tim) Durling, Marty Wilson, Daphne (Kevin) Boyd, Peter (Mary Beth) Wilson.
She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Ashley Trueman Hatt, her parents Cleve and Catherine Wilson and brother-in-law Albert MacDonald.
Marilyn was a devoted and faithful wife, a loving, tender and compassionate mother and a proud and “very pleased” Grandmother. She had a brilliant mind, was musically talented, both in voice and guitar, with gift in poetry and writing. She possessed a unique and warm way inhospitality that made all who visited her home comfortable and cared for. Simply put, Marilyn was easy to be around. Above all she was a child of God through her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which permeated every area of her life. Her greatest joy was that her boys were faithful to the LORD. She loved to hear them preach or listen as they shared in spiritual things.
We would like to extend our appreciation and love to all the Family of God for their prayers and support for Marilyn in these recent days, especially those at Westside Bible Chapel, Sydney NS and her devoted Brothers and Sisters in the Wilson and Hatt families. The support meant so much!!
We are grateful for her Psychiatrist Dr. Yvonne Libbus whose compassionate, expert care gave Marilyn an outstanding quality of life. Thanks also to her attending Physician Dr. Nuredin Shishko, and a special thanks to the nurses, doctors and volunteers at the palliative care unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Their tender, thoughtful and proactive care provided Marilyn with dignity and comfort in her final days. We are truly grateful!!
