Marie “Maria” Chevarie
1935-2021
SAINT-CHARLES, NB – Maria Chevarie, 86, formerly of
Saint-Charles, passed away peacefully at the Manoir
Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche on Friday, May
21st, 2021. Born in Saint-Charles, she was the
daughter of the late Livain and Eleonore (Arsenault)
Chevarie.
Our mother Maria loved life, bingo, music, the beautiful
decorations during the holidays and dressing up for any occasion,
which was always important to her. She liked to welcome friends and
invite them for lunch. Everyone was always entertained by her funny
stories. She often forgot herself to serve others. The family will
always have fond memories of their family life.
Maria leaves to mourn her four daughters, Eva Richard
(Adrien) of Saint-Ignace, Annette Johnson (Leo), Diane Maillet
(Antoine) and Janice Chevarie (Richard), all of Saint-Charles; her two
sons, Raymond and Donald, both of Bouctouche; her seven grandchildren
and her 14 great grandchildren.
Maria will also be sadly missed by her sister, Elise Vautour
(late Israel) of Shediac; her three brothers, Tony (Mary), Marc (Kim),
both of Hamilton, ON and Zoel of Richibucto; her sister-in-law,
Jeannine Chevarie of Aldouane; her son-in-law, Yvon Ouellette of
Saint-Louis; as well as by her many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Maria was predeceased by her husband,
Omer; her daughter, Jacqueline; two infant sons, Noël and
Joseph; her grandson, Michel; her great-grandson, Benoit; an infant
sister, Annette and two brothers, Alpha and Arsene.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home,
Richibucto on Friday from 10-noon and from 2:00 pm until departure for
the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, May
28th, 2021 at 4:00 pm,
Saint-Charles-Borromée Roman Catholic Church,
Saint-Charles.
The family wishes to thank the Foyer Jean-Marie Allain
(Wanda) and staff in Bouctouche for the wonderful years spent with
them and the excellent care provided. Also, special thanks to the
management and staff at Le Manoir Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Bouctouche for
the excellent care and support given to our dear
mother.
