It is with deep sadness that the family of the late MARIE DODGE of Creston South announces her passing. Marie passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center in Burin on Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at the age of 80.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her step-daughter, Connie Larsen (David) and their children, Zoe & Jasmine of Hong Kong; sister, Jane Baker (Philip) of Creston South; brother, Lloyd Forsey of Mount Pearl; sister-in-law, Alice Forsey of St. John’s; nieces, Lauralyn Purchase (Mark) of Virginia, USA, Dawn Dunn (Rob) of Mount Pearl, and Marsha Hillier (Joey) of Creston South; nephews, Howard Purchase (Marjorie) of Mount Pearl, Dave Forsey of Ontario, and Mark Baker (Tammy) of Ontario; the entire Ddoge Family; plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Marie was predeceased by her husband, Allan Dodge; parents, Bert & Laura Forsey; brother, Howard Forsey; sister, Bertha Purchase; and sister-in-law, Margaret Forsey.
Special thank you to Marie’s personal and homecare workers, Paula Brake, Ashley Brown, Julie Farewell, Brenda Gleason, Katrina LaFosse and special friend, Alice Cooke.
Special thanks to Dr. Rolands and the staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre who provided compassion and wonderful care in Marie’s final days. And to Dr. Stacey Saunders and public health nurse, Lori McCarthy who were always there when needed.
In following her wishes cremation has taken place.
The Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Sunday, August 22nd from 10am to 12pm, 2pm to 5pm, & 7pm to 9pm. In following the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation with a maximum of 50 people in the building at one time. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are encouraged. Please note that there is no food permitted in the funeral home.
Funeral Service will take place at the United Church in Creston South on Monday, August 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Inurnment to follow at the United Church Cemetery in Creston South.
In Marie’s memory donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society or flower gratefully accepted.
