Marie “Anna”‘s Obituary
LeBlanc, Marie Bernadette “Anna” of Grosses Coques (Digby County) passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the age of 98 in Nakile Home For Special Care. Born in Belliveau Cove, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Delima (Theriault ) Blinn.
Anna was an extremely giving and caring person, always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She was also very adventurous, never afraid to try something new. Mom was known to figure skate, snorkel with Dad and even played a role in the film “Les Gossipeuses”. She and Dad taught dance lessons to countless people and were flawless on the dance floor together.
Mom was a proud member of Les Dames Patronesses and President of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She also served on church committees and was a guide at the Church Point church museum. She enjoyed her involvement in the Red Hat Society, volunteering with the local food bank, collecting for numerous hospital fundraisers and even successfully completing a home care course.
She is survived by her children; Dorothy (late Gary) Boone, Antigonish; Patricia (late Marcel) Comeau, Saulnierville; Jean (Debby) LeBlanc, South Rawdon; Michael (Flora) LeBlanc, Grosses Coques; daughter-in-law Karen Shupe. She also leaves behind 6 adoring grandchildren: Daniel, Andre, Leon, Kim, Laura and Marc; as well as 3 great grandchildren: Danielle, Gabrielle, and Sébastien.
She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Alphonse; son, Victor; twin brother, Bernard; brothers, Gus, Benoit, Louis and Albert; sisters, Marguerite Snowden and Therese Doucet; daughter-in-law, Donna LeBlanc.
We wish to express our deepest appreciation to the staff of Nakile Home for Special Care for the wonderful loving care Mom received. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
