Passed away at the Village of Taunton Mills on Monday July 5th, 2021 at the age of 102.
Predeceased by her husbands Reyk Van Vliet (1978) and the late John H. Olthoff
Much loved mother of Elizabeth van der Loo and her husband Frank of Newcastle, Nicolaas van Vliet and his wife Kim of the Haines Juction Yukon, Jan van Vliet and his wife Joan of Sioux Center, Iowa and Wilhelmina and her husband Richard Coates of Markham.
Cherished Oma of Sarah (Tony), Ashley (Jordan), Savannah, Dana, Jevon (Rebecca), Jolanda (Ryan), Janine (Caleb), Joel (Laura), Julia (Roberto), Sylvia (Bruce), Jonathan (Tina), Christina (James), David (Lindsey), Deanna (Pedja). Maria will be remembered as a wonderful great Oma of her great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her sister Petronella and her brother Joop and survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Fondly remembered by the Olthoff family Henry (deceased August 1990) Dorothy surviving, John and his wife Helen, Ben and his wife Florence, Henrietta and Oakie and Rien as well as 23 Grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Visitation at Barnes Memorial Funeral Home, 5295 Thickson Rd. N. Whitby on Thursday from 12:30 to 1:15. A funeral service will be held in the Barnes Chapel Thursday afternoon at 1:30. Anyone wishing to register for visitation or service may do so using the RSVP service on the website. If you require assistance to register call our office between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.
Maria will be laid to rest at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
