Stenkowyi, Maria (nee Silkiewycz) 1924 – 2021
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Maria Stenkowyi announce her passing at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in her 97th year.
Predeceased by her beloved husband John Stenkowyi (2011). Dear mother of Raisa Culliford and husband Keith and Valentina Robbins and husband Colin. Cherished grandmother of Christopher Sawatsky (Renee), Natasha Sawatsky, Kristin Robbins, Lara Lenz (Derrick) and great grandmother of Johnny.
Predeceased by her brothers Stephan, Ivan, her sister Anna and parents Isaac and Matrona Silkiewycz.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and care team at the Hotal Dieu Shaver for the care and compassion mom received while in their care. A special thanks to Sister Louise Dillon for her prayers and words of support.
A private funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 15th beginning at 11:00 am. Rite of committal will follow at Fonthill Cemetery.
Those that wishing to watch the service may do so via live stream by going to the PELHAM FUNERAL HOME Facebook page on Tuesday, June 15th beginning at 11:00 am.
As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Hotal Dieu Shaver (541 Glenridge Avenue St. Catharines, ON L2T4C2).
