In Loving Memory

Born in Deinze, East Flanders, Belgium to Roger and Julia Wullaert. Marguerite spent the war years in Germany as a maid/housekeeper for a lady doctor becoming an integral part of the family. Upon her return to Deinze she married Bertrand Charlet. In 1955 along with Robert and Rita they left Belgium to join Bertrand in Delhi Ontario , working together in agriculture to build a new life. Ron joined the family in 1959. After Bertrand’s death she worked many jobs usually seven days a week with the goal to purchasing her own home and to ensure that her children had the opportunity for higher education. As a master seamstress/entrepreneur she had a desire to establish her own business. Along with Roger she established D’ MARO Shirt Manufacturing. From her workshop in her home and the help of her employees they produced dozens of shirts each week for clients including Gord Astles and designer Lou Myles of Toronto . An avid knitter and quilter she produced many fine items for her family. Marguerite always said that her secret to a long life was to eat and drink properly, only one glass of wine per day, no more, no less. A wonderful woman who loved her family, and always put them before herself. Former Marguerite Wullaert. Beloved wife of the Late Bertrand Charlet (1964) and the Late Roger D’Haene (2004).
